Man Bahadur Thapa is a veteran visual professional in Nepal. He has professional experience as a cinematographer and a video editor for more than three decades. He has worked in most of the audio-visual art sectors in Nepal like television Programmes, video films, documentary, serial and feature movies. Thapa was working in Audio-Visual department of Nepal army for more than one and half decade. He continued his career even after his retirement from Nepal Army with active involvement in visual and literature art in Nepal .
Now, He is Chairperson of Truly Nepal Media Ptv. Ltd, Multimedia Editor of Anweshanen Media Pvt. Ltd. and Executive Chairperson of Dreams Creation in Kathmandu. He is also Senior Vice Chair of Fulara Literature Foundation.
He is an inspiration for the new generation in the field of audi-visual art. He always encourages the new generation and supports them with his skills, knowledge and experience. He enjoys transferring knowledge and skills to the new generation. But he also keeps himself updated with the new technology in the field of visual art.
Having experience of shooting many advertisements, Thapa also edited and crafted the graphics of the seventy-two episodes long television program called ‘Hami ra Hamro Sambhidhaan’ for National Television. He has also edited the documentary film ‘Rajdrohi Rajrajneta’. Having worked on more than hundred documentaries, docu-drams, tele-films and serials as editor, cinematographer and graphics, Man Bahadur has also worked in feature films.
As an editor of feature film ‘Krodha’ and documentary film ‘Sunshine’ directed by Aakash Adhikari, Man Bahadur co-edited a tele-film titled ‘Jiban Raksya’, on the issue of community health which was directed by Sabir Shrestha.
Similarly, he also edited the “Devasari” and “Santan” directed by Pukar Bhattarai and many more fiction and non-fictions films and tele-films. Thapa bagged the award of Best Editor from the documentaries ‘Katha Nala Pani Ko’, and “Aviation Museum Kathmandu”. He also won the title of Best Cinematographer from the docu-drama “ Feeling of Drops” at the New York International Independent Film and Video Festival in 2006.
After receiving many national and international awards and honors for editor and cinematographer documenting and editing documentaries, short films, docu-drama and tele-film, Man Bahadur wants to continue the same profession for the rest of his life.
