DEVASARI-Film

Director/Writer: Pukar Bhattarai, Editor: Man Bahadur Thapa, Camera: Ganesh Kumar Shrestha

This film explores the Sha: re-approach and the Share Center of Nepal, focusing on the country's tumultuous history, marked by a decade-long civil war. The scars of this conflict still affect many individuals and communities even more than a decade after it ended. The film delves into the challenges of bridging divisions within Nepalese society, particularly between former Maoist rebel combatants, known as the ex-PLA, and other community members.
Tensions have escalated as large numbers of ex-PLA members resettled in various Nepali villages and towns starting in 2010. In addition to the complexities of reintegrating these individuals, Nepal faces ongoing social, political, and ethnic tensions that can easily lead to violence and disruption.
The Sha: re-approach and the Share Center of Nepal play a critical role in addressing these challenges. They work to rebuild trust among people, fostering a collective journey toward reconciliation, healing, and a more secure future. This film is part of the "From Sha:red Truths to Joint Responsibility" project, a collaboration between Inmedio Berlin and Culture for Peace, with support from Ifa/zivik and the German Foreign Office.
